[ Can't go wrong with beef. And the salad looks edible, at least. ]

No problem. Think we got the bugs worked out.

Good, good. Any thoughts for your theme yet? I've got Yurio starting to think on his, but I can't do much choreographing with no theme or music!

[ He peeks into the other pot then—it looks like he's got rice steaming under there. He takes a small forkful to test if it's done yet. ]

Not really ... I haven't thought about it much, I guess.

[ Surely he can't mess up rice either. ]

[ Surely not. Viktor tsks at Yuuri, but nods at the state of the rice. He puts the rice lid back on before he dumps ... something white and goopey into the beef dish?? He turns the burner off while he stirs it in, turning whatever's inside into a light-ish brown, the pieces of beef and onion(??) becoming more visible as he does. ]

Ah, it's done! Come serve up~

[ What the hell is he making. Yuuri grabs a bowl and approaches carefully. ]

So what is it?

Beef stroganoff! Have you never had it before?

No, never. It looks good?

[ He carefully ladles himself a bowl. ]

Ah, put rice in the bottom first! That way the sauce can soak in.

[ Viktor gets a bowl himself and spoons out a fairly generous portion of rice for himself and Yuuri. When he pours the stroganoff on top, the beef, onions, and mushrooms become more obvious as the sauce soaks into the rice.

The rice is a bit crunchy still around the edges of the steamer (hasn't Viktor ever used a rice cooker before??) and some of the onions are chopped too big, but the flavor of the beef and sour cream is pretty damn good. ]

[ Crunchy rice. Jeez. But otherwise it's not too bad? Actually good, in fact. He takes the first spoonful tentatively ... and then gladly starts chowing down on the rest. ]

This is amazing, Viktor.

[ Only slightly okay!! He tried anyway. He smiles at the compliment, letting out a relieved breath. ]

Oh good! I haven't made this in years so I was a bit worried.

Is this a family recipe?

Not really. Just a basic recipe I think every Russian knows in their blood.

That kind of counts ...

[ He continues to eat gratefully. ]

Is it the same for Japanese and pork cutlet bowls?

[ Viktor also serves them both a plate of salad as well, scooting the plate over to Yuuri. ]

Pork cutlet's a bit harder to make, I think.

[ He tucks into that as well. ]

[ Viktor only takes a few bites of his own meal before he's just watching Yuuri eat, his chin resting on his hand. ]

Oh, there's much more complicated recipes out there. This is just incredibly simplified.
